The firm of N. and D. Sellers was engaged in wire working industry and in the manufacture of wool cards and paper molds. After the death of David Sellers in 1813 and the retirement of Nathan Sellers 1817, the business was run by Coleman, son of Nathan, and Samuel and James, sons of David Sellers. In 1828 N. and D. Coleman Sellers was a manufacturer and inventor. With his cousins he ran the family business, N. & D. Sellers, in manufacturing wool cards and paper molds in Pennsylvania. John Pemberton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a member of the Society of Friends, was imprisoned with 19 other men in Winchester, Virginia, between 1777 and 1778, after refusing to swear allegiance to the United States.
